CATI
Computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) is a telephone surveying method in which the interviewer follows a script provided by a software application. The software tailors the questionnaire based on the answers provided, skipping questions that are not applicable or probing for more detail when needed.
CATI data collection is typically used to ensure representative sampling as it is able to access segments of the population that may be less likely to complete online surveys. In this capacity it is usually employed to compliment online surveying efforts. It is also useful when email contacts are not readily available.
