Females applauded the prospective change more than males, as women generally have a reduced total life income compared to men due to factors including raising children.

· As the announcement of Australia's first female Prime Minister was made, a voter backlash was beginning as over one fifth of Australians (21%) said they would not vote for Labor if an election was held this week, as they feel they had not elected Julia Gillard, a Political Poll of 2500 respondents conducted by CoreData found.
The poll, conducted on the morning of the announcement, considered Gillard the most 'authentic' among the politicians measured, beating Rudd, Abbott and Hockey, with Garrett considered 'least authentic'.
The findings revealed only 29.5% of Australians would vote Labor if an election was held in the week immediately following Gillard's appointment, trumped by the 42% who indicated they would vote Liberal. (June-10) Read more

· Location and price are the two main drivers for customer grocery store choice, according to a TrueLocal.com.au Grocery Survey conducted by CoreData.
The convenience of being able to access a grocery store was considered most important for half of respondents, with a further one fifth of shoppers (28%) saying price was the number one reason for selecting a store.

· The Australian superannuation system was developed to fund retirement, yet the majority of us are blasé when selecting which superannuation fund to use, according to a Superannuation Survey conducted by CoreData.
Almost two-thirds of Australians did not choose their superannuation provider, instead simply allowing their employer to use the company's default provider of choice.
As a result, two-fifths of Australians have the expense of more than one superannuation fund due to changing employers, with half of these respondents saying they are too lazy to consolidate accounts. (June-10) Read more

· Many Aussies who illegally download music, TV shows and movies would actually consider paying for the content if there was a cheap and convenient way to do so, according to the news.com.au Piracy Download Survey conducted by CoreData.
The 31 to 50 year age bracket is more likely to pay for music, while Generation Y is most prepared to pay for TV and movie downloads.
