Scholarship
Investing In Better Research
At CoreData we spend a lot of time trying to make the research we do better. Better is an interesting word, because it covers every element of what we do. We want to find better ways of collecting information, presenting information and understanding information.
The other thing we know is that while we spend a lot of time thinking about conducting research and being in the research business generally – we aren’t necessarily the only place where good new ideas come from.
So if you are a student, a business person or a member of the public who has a research idea we will help you make it real with the CoreData Research Scholarship.
Every year we will commit $20,000 worth of our time, money, resources and tools to your project.
We are really interested in financial services and behavioral research, but we’ll consider anything – so if you an Honors student, a PhD Student or in an industry body and are interested in finding out more about people and the way they think or behave then we are interested in helping you do that.
We currently collaborate with the following universities:
Data Visualisation Techniques Analysis.
The aim of the project is to initially produce a literature review on the current state and innovative approaches of data visualisation techniques in the context of financial services market research. It focuses on analysis and visual communication of data, the review of those techniques that are currently applied, especially in fields of financial data analysis and social network analysis with prototype diagrams to address analysis and/or communication needs. This will provide a springboard to the adoption of best practice techniques, the development of novel approaches and ultimately proprietary software for data analysis and presentation. This collaboration is part of an ongoing commitment to academic partnership and is aimed at fostering a long term active relationship with UTS. Results to be published.
The Australian Collaborative for Innovation in Online Survey Design – the OSD Collaborative.
The outcome of this project will be world-first clarity about the new question formats currently on offer (sorting the wheat from the chaff), new question and answer formats that address the limitations of those currently in use and strong thought leadership about future directions for online and mobile survey questionnaire design. The OSD Collaborative will provide value to the research industry as a whole, both in Australia and globally. The findings will be widely published in high ranking international journals and presented at the top national and international academic and practitioner conferences. This project represents CoreData’s commitment to innovation and best practice in survey research methodology, keeping us at the leading edge of financial services market research.
