Young Social Changemakers Report
CoreData’s Young Social Changemakers Report 2017 reveals the opportunities and challenges faced by Australia’s young social entrepreneurs (under 30 years old) and the benefits these young changemakers create for the Australian community.
Our research reveals young social entrepreneurs contribute an estimated $307.6 million to the economy through volunteering and employment. This excludes any indirect contribution through positive role-modelling encouraging more young people into the social enterprise sector; mobilising human capital by providing employment opportunities for the youth unemployed; and equipping Australia’s youth with important skills for the future.
Despite the societal and economic benefits of investing in young social changemakers, the research identified gaps in the support systems relied on to get these businesses off the ground and ensure their long-term viability.
